The Role:
As a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and testing engines and mechanical components on their heavy-duty fixed and mobile plant. This role requires someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, can work independently, and is committed to upholding high-quality standards as you’ll work across a variety of tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose faults using specialised diagnostic equipment and repair or replace worn parts.
- Conduct preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, and major rebuilds on heavy-duty fixed and mobile plant machinery.
- Repair and maintain engine management systems, fuel injection components, and electrical systems.
- Operate welding equipment (oxy, electric, TIG, MIG) as required.
- Manage servicing schedules, plan and execute repairs, and maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
- Ensure all repairs comply with industry standards and company safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment while caring for tools, machinery, and equipment.
- Assist with fieldwork and occasional Northwest operations as required.
- Follow safe working procedures and wear PPE.
- Report hazards, incidents, and near misses.
- Attend toolbox and safety meetings.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Essential:
- Certificate of Trade in Mechanical Engineering.
- Current Driver’s Licence.
- Ability to work effectively and safely without supervision.
- HR Driver’s Licence.
