The Role
We’re looking for a Sydney Design Lead
with experience in the fast-paced design and construction (D&C) sector to provide leadership and management across the projects and the people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and strategic direction across all design phases, from concept to completion.
- Mentor and guide Senior Designers, fostering a collaborative, supportive and high-performance culture.
- Navigate complex design and construction challenges, developing creative and technically sound solutions that elevate the brand’s standards.
- Take full ownership of project success, managing risk, scope, timelines, and budgets across multiple initiatives.
- Manage project quality, performance, and profitability while overseeing resource allocation across multiple projects.
- Lead resource planning for the Sydney studio, optimizing project staffing and team productivity.
- Identify efficiencies, allocate resources effectively, and implement strategies for streamlined project delivery.
- Lead high-profile projects that balance strategic vision with practical execution.
Additional Requirements:
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the primary contact for escalations and project feedback.
- Actively network within the local market to leverage client connections, drive business development, and identify growth opportunities aligned with market needs.
- Stay at the forefront of industry trends, engage in professional development, and champion continuous learning.
What You’ll Bring:
✅ Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture
✅ 10+ years of experience in the design and construction industry
✅ Proficiency in Revit – strong documentation and detailing skills
✅ Ability to manage projects from concept to site delivery
✅ Strong communication & presentation skills
✅ Leadership qualities with a proactive and positive approach
✅ Excellent time management and ability to prioritise effectively
