Design & Build has partnered with one of Australia's most prominent Insurance Building firms that is looking to grow its team by hiring a Site Supervisor for their Eastern-Melbourne region. This is a contract opportunity
for 6 to 12 months, intending to move to permanent employment.
As the Site Supervisor, you will be pivotal in overseeing residential insurance building projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Your expertise will be crucial in coordinating tasks, managing subcontractors, and maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
As the Supervisor you will be responsible for:
- Supervise daily operations on construction sites, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Establish construction methods based on the detailed scope of work.
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors, vendors, and laborers to ensure project milestones are met.
- Conduct regular site inspections with the client to monitor progress, quality, and delivery timeframes.
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure effective communication and address any issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and change orders.
- Ensure materials and equipment are available on-site and manage inventory efficiently.
- Foster a positive team environment that promotes collaboration and safety.
- Travel will be required in this role covering areas such as: Gippsland, Phillip Island, Latrobe Valley, Drouin and Greater Melbourne.
- Proven experience as a Site Supervisor in residential construction, preferably in insurance restoration.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety standards, and building codes.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret plans and technical drawings.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Must have a current valid driver's licence.
